Generally 3/4 hours+ .But nowdays 7/8 hours+ for quarantine.I think, it's a great time to improve us.

Can you guys share what you are doing during that time?

To me it is an indication that something is very wrong if you have been actively practicing 4639 hours a week for some time but are still < blue.

    Well, total practice = (number of days since one started)*(average practice per day)

    Maybe these guys have high daily practice per day, but not a high number of days they have been practicing, maybe, just a guess

      I really can't even guess and it probably varies from person to person a lot. Still, I think 5 hours per day for several months is orders of magnitude more than enough to be blue.

          ICPC problems range from very easy (like Div2B) to very hard (more than Div1F).

    I think the common way of thinking “I got red with this much of practice so anyone can reach at least blue” isn’t quite right. Think about this: People like Knuth or Tarjan will probably think the same to any CF reds, but it’s not like we are doing something fundamentally wrong.

      Technically you can get 48hrs a day. If you cross the "International Date Line" every day.

          It goes like this -
          First spend Monday in GMT +12:00. When the day gets over the cross line to live again on Monday in GMT -12:00.

          When the day gets over again cross the line to live Wednesday in GMT +12:00. Then Wednesday GMT -12:00.

          This way you will get 48hrs on the day you live. A day with 0 hrs isn't even a day. Just forget about Tuesday, Thursday etc.

Around 3 hours a day for a week or so followed by barely 4-5 hours a week for the next few weeks and then repeat the cycle. So around 1-1.5 hours on average I guess.

Usually I do 1 problem per 1-2 hours during whatever time I'm practicing properly.

5-6 hours from the last two months. Still, I cannot see any improvement. In my first div3 contest I solved 4 but in previous div3 656 I could only solve 2 :-(

To make my words precise, I'll talk about the days where I spend time on codeforces exactly for solving. Because, sometimes I spend time to write comments, and some detailed comments may take few hours.

Also, I'll note that average days per week when I spend time on codeforces is one or two days per week. Why so? Well, I'm a bit old. I have no particular reason for training. I'm doing it as a hobby. Participation in codeforces rounds is fun. New knowledge as a bonus. And one or two days per week is usual count of rounds per week. Sometimes I'm lazy to participate, so I skip some rounds.

Regarding hours per day when I spend time on codeforces: it's around duration of round + 1-2 hours after it. Why 1-2 hours after? Because most of the time I don't have enough time to finish all code that I tried to implement. So, for example I finish code haLf hour + solve next problem that I didn't read and try to solve it... until I run out of ideas.

If in day there is no round but I want to upsolve something, I spend Hour. Because most of time I know what I'm upsolving, because it usually happens in following way: hmm I didn't solve that cool task — and thinking about it, and suddenly I get solution so I write code for it. I can think about codeforces task in any spare time so it's hard to tell anthing about how much time I spend on thinking about problems. Usually it happens when you have nothing to do, or you lazy to do anything else so you "chilling" by thinking about codeforces problem.

Regarding to how to train: run virtual contests, don't look into editorials straight ahead. Postpone unsolved tasks, but don't keep number of postponed task too high. You should consider tasks as postponed if they are two (or three if you're more motivated) after the task you solved during virtual contest / official contest. Then, if number of postponed task is too high, you read editorials, and first to read is what task you were thinking most of the time unless you want to solve it yourself. Also, don't look tests, try to come up with tests yourself, learn to debug. And, finally, completely forgot to mention: you need to look at editorials of tasks you solved, and understand proof to the last point. And then you may also open standings and read top 10 solutions to learn how other people deal with tasks like that.

I believe that it is not just how much time you give in CP, but how much time you give in to let any topic sink deep into your understanding of any subject, though practice is really very important but usually when I learned any new topic I would give in hours sometimes until I don't feel comfortable with every aspect of it and fell in love with it.

you can literally do nothing for hours(debugging some data structures e.g.), and times in my life when i used to spend on cp 8 hours per day werent the most productive times in my life. so measuring your progress in hours is quite inappropriate
