Rejections, poor performances and similar stuff do fuel me to perform better, work harder and improve.
Ultimately it is practice but you need a motivation to work hard, find it. Also believe no one who tells you there is a substitute for hard work.
poor performance ?? my bro never became pupil !! or your parameters of poor performance are too high??
Poor performances include other coding competitions too like codeJam etc. Not qualifying a given round even when I was confident I should be able to counts as bad performance. And Ofcourse poor performance is a relative term. For Someone who is red not getting top 10 or 20 in kick start is a poor performance. For someone with my rating, top 150 or top 100 might be considered a good performance.
I was rejected by tmw when I asked him on a date. Since that day, my motivation to improve my rating has been to reduce the infinitely large rating gap between us, hoping that one day I can date my true love
stop stealing tmw from me
False. Nobody has ever asked me out on a date, and I don't think high red coders will ever have this experience.
tmw will you go on a date with me
tmw ghosted me :'(
Happened when I hit borderline specialist (1417) for the first time ,
Kept myself in the illusion that I'm a cyan now no need to give contests , but deep down I knew that i would fall down to pupil if I give another contest...
I heard a song one night , and it instantly reminded me of the girl in my username ...
From that moment onwards , I didn't care much and I didn't think about much
Just Code and listen to THE LAST STORY , TOBERU MONO REMIX
The turning point of my coding life was when I started practicing hard. After that, I was improving significantly.
Can you leave a hint of how hard you practiced for how long?
Correct me if I'm wrong tmwilliamlin168 but from my understanding I believe tmw practiced very hard for a very long time.
You mean practicing harder problems OR practicing for longer durations?
Both !!
edit: as a cow crushing on tmw (it's a 1 directional relationship) I can attest to the fact that tmw said that
"for 10th grade and 11th grade i was so into practicing it was like sleep 4-7pm and (2/3/4)-7am now there's more of 4-7pm and 1-7am"
using this statement, we can deduce that from 2017-2019, tmw rating rose from expert to IGM :O
