Hi Everyone,
I'm delighted to announce that we will be hosting Indian Programming Camp (IPC) — 2020 edition online from November 20th — November 22nd. The camp has no charges and anyone can register and attend.
In the past, the IPC camp used to be conducted offline and was mainly targetted towards experienced IOI and ICPC aspirants. You can take a look at the IPC 2016 and IPC 2017 playlists to get an idea of the format.
This year, we are introducing three different tracks — Div3/Div2/Div1, catering to Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced programmers.
Event: Indian Programming Camp 2020
Dates: November 20th — November 22nd, 2020
Platform: YouTube and Unacademy
Tracks: Div1/Div2/Div3
Cost: Free of charge
Educators: Baba, EnEm, adurysk, sidhant, coder_pulkit_c, arjunarul, Riya Bansal, Sanket Singh
Registration Link: https://www.codechef.com/ipc/camp/2020
Note: Registered participants will be added to a discord server where live updates & discussions will be conducted during the camp, so please do register if you want to attend.
The exact schedule of the camp will be shared soon. Happy to answer any other open questions.
Thanks!
Tanuj
Update: We have sent reminder emails to all the registered participants. If you registered but haven't received an email, please let us know (either by comment or by email to [email protected])
The links to all classes in a track can be found here:
Div1: https://unacademy.com/a/i-p-c-advanced-track
Div2: https://unacademy.com/a/i-p-c-intermediate-track
Div3: https://unacademy.com/a/i-p-c-beginner-trackThe classes will also be streamed on Learn Competitive Programming with CodeChef youtube channel.
If you are able to create an account on Unacademy (everyone from India + some other countries), I would strongly suggest you to do so and enroll in the lectures on the unacademy platform since the classroom experience should be much better (ability to ask questions in chat, answer polls during the live class etc.).
what is arjunarul doing among all the IMs and GMs? what will he teach lol ? reverse a linked list?
Arjun Arul had been an ACM ICPC world finalist TWICE.
okay i edited it, dont get mad at me indians
It's not about Indians, calling anyone ugly("looks like a monkey") is disrespectful, especially on a public platform. You need to get your manners right.
And saying "don't get mad at me Indians" shows how that you think you're getting downvoted just by Indians (on what basis exactly?? Race? You're being very racist here), this is dumb. Any reasonable person will downvote you.
sir sir sorry sir, won't happen again sir, apology sir
Why are you even apologizing to me? My feelings didn't get hurt or anything, there are countless racists and I couldn't care less
r/woosh
Haha funny guy
Probably the most pathetic person I've seen in the platform
By your comments, it seems like you are a teenager who is trying to be "cool" by making some irrelevant jokes. And if you are not, then you must know that any person's physical appearance has nothing to do with what kind of a person he is / his problem solving skills / mental capabilities. If you judge a person by his physical appearance, then Albert Einstein was the biggest monkey ever lived in your opinion, right ? Well it doesn't matter to those people if you call them monkey or whatever even at their face. But it pretty much sums up your upbringing
Indian!!! I think you should go to the doctor to check your eye. And I don't know how can you improve your mentality!
okay indians i apolgize now, stop downvoting me -__-
i am not even indian, and i already downvoted all ur racism comments. don't get mad at me okay?
Why spread hate bro? There's always something to learn from someone :)
I am surprised you didn't point out the 2 unrated educators at the end of the list Dalal_of_Codechef and instead pointed out arjunarul
unrated != low rating
if someone is
ACM ICPC world finalist TWICE
how come is he still a blue?either he cheated or there were way too less participants from india that year
Good Luck counting no of "blues" in 2015, 2016
Wow this thread makes my blood boil. Dalal_of_Codechef, Based on your registration time and your first comment on this post, it looks like you created this account solely for the purpose of posting that, so you clearly know him.
Are you one of those kids who were caught cheating? Can't think of anyone else who'd want to bully arjunarul. Actually I have a pretty good guess as to who you are based on similar past comments on CF. I'm not exposing your name just to be civil, so you don't wanna test my patience.
You probably already know this, but he's been an IOI coach for the last many years. A lot of CS people (including me) aren't super interested in programming because there's also other cool stuff in CS outside of your competitive programming bubble.
As someone who has been to IPC camp before and IOITC where Arjun was a coach, I can confirm he teaches very well.
He is more of maths and CS theory guy. He has undergraduates in mathematics and left PhD midway. Also has a lot of experience in teaching DS & Algo (greater than 6 years since I know him), Probably one of the best Indian CP person in CS pedagogy. Watch his lectures. You will definitely find them interesting :)
He doesn't like to program. Fun fact: We have set many problems together where he proposed the idea and I did the preparations.
He doesn't like to program
well then she is a math teacher simply, maybe leave CP to the people who have actuallydone
it roflNot liking to program doesn't mean inability to program or to not being able to understand the programs.
Just for reference, even Benq, Ksun, etc. were blue after 12 contests. Given that it wasn't as easy to become master+ in 2013-14 types, I'd say that your comments are pretty stupid. I think that qualifying for WF twice (also IOI-TC), along with his other contributions to CP, are a way better indicator of his ability than a very outdated CF rating.
I'd type in a much more comprehensive response if it seemed like you were genuinely curious about his skill level, but your snide comments and fake account are proof enough that this is some kind of stupid troll, so I will save my time.
Anyways commenting something like this without knowing anything about him seems like a pretty pathetic thing to do.
Any suggestions on how to choose the track ? can one switch after registration ?
While you are filling the form there is an option of choosing the track.
I meant how to know which one suitable.
Excited to be a part of this camp :}
Can i attend two different divisions ?? As they cover different concepts and i want to learn them both.
Please try to make it possible . As now a days topics like segment tree are not only for div1 but div 2 students also needs them .
I remember ,i got a problem based on basic segment tree (interval sum and update) in a hiring test too.
Actually Segment Tree Beats will be taught in Division 1 that is much advance topic than Segment Tree
What is the expected wait time to get a reply? I registered a few days ago, but I don't think I have received a reply yet. Should I register again, as it is possible I may not have put my details correctly.
We will be sending out emails to all the registered participants soon (by 19/11/2020) with the exact schedule and invitation to discord server.
Hey,
Will the lectures for the tracks be held simultaneously?
If yes, then will they be recorded?
If not, can I attend lectures for both advanced and intermediate? I just want to learn game theory and hashing as well.
Hey!
Yes, the lectures will be simultaneous, but I'm pretty sure that the recordings will be available afterward.
Awesome, thanks!
this camp is paid or it it free of cost ? Just checking it before applying for it
Do we receive an email on registration? Because I don't think I got one.
registered but did not receive the mail yet :(
