Hi CF community I have been a newbie from quite a long time and performing at a highly low rate. I want to do CP but loosing much motivation now but still want to keep this as a top priority and not give up because of which I can't switch to anything else thus ending in a very dead end loop. I know this answer is "practice". No other substitute. Upsolving questions till D still taking a lot of time to think. Sometimes I think too slow and because of that not able to complete question in small time. Because of that I have to look at the editorial. Nowadays, a single D question is taking my whole day. I am doing questions daily. I know I am not effective. It is a dead end loop. Can't figure out. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
I think You should practice https://a2oj.com/ladder?ID=4 And https://a2oj.com/ladder?ID=5 Problems For better Growth A2 Online Judge
What about, instead of solving harder problems, try solving easier problems first, but with more speed?
That's one of the things that E869120 mentions in his tutorial, and I find it effective. Try it out.
Personally, I think newbies should do some competitive math before resuming competitive programming. Most of the A and B problems on Codeforces and really just mathematical thinking and a few lines of code.
Math background is indeed important, and solving math problems indeed helps, but isn't doing competitive math a bit too much?
Competitive math in the US entails really everything from AMC 8 to IMO (maybe Putnam). AMC 8,10,12 aren't that hard...
Hey man, I can tell you my strategy, you see I was a specialist for a long time but then I started practicing without worrying about my rating and just enjoyed the problems. Now I can easily maintain expert. I will suggest you to solve 1000-1100 problems for like 20 days and then proceed to 1200-1300 problems for 20-30 days.
Contigo help him :)
Still an unrated. Any help?
Participate in a contest which is rated for you. :D
Try to solve problems in difficulty range from 1000 to 1200. Give virtual contests periodically.
You should believe in yourself not just practice. If you think about problem that it`s easy and realy believe in it you would solve it much faster. Trust me, it realy works that way.
And yeah i am the kindest person on the cf :3
