Mcayitel's blog

By Mcayitel, history, 4 years ago, In English

Recently, I came to knew that if any user during the contest takes the code of his/her friend and submits it then the user is skipped for the contest (without any penalty) while his friend gets notification.

Let us say there is a person X, and he is not performing well in the contest (so his/her rating will fall). What he does is create a temporary codeforces id, submits code for question A in fake id. Then X again submits the code for A. So, X is out of contest without any penalty. Can this be done? and if it can be, then this is a loop hole i think.

But person X has resubmited the solution and codeforces considers the last solution if I am not wrong

Oh yeah, I didn't read the blog correctly. Now I understand. So, in this case person X would lose all the submissions and his rank would be dropped to last but the round would still be rated for him. Hence, bigger loss.

Actually he doesn't lose any rating, he is out of the contest.

See this guy. He lost ratings (-131). Can you show some example for what you're saying?

I have seen this in the last contest, don't remember the handler.

Then maybe you're wrong. Maybe ratings didn't update for them at the time when you saw it. Anyways, do you think mike wouldn't have thought of it if it was the case?

I am pretty sure that I have seen that after update of ratings. Maybe u have some experience with this which explains your interest in stretching this discussion.

No experience. It's just that I'm sensible enough not to make stupid blogs without any proofs.

But you are not sensible enough to stop the discussion. Your proof: Check the last 3 submissions of this person, he had given this round but his codes are skipped and out of the contest.

I just saw that this was his second time getting skipped. I guess dorijanlendvaj is right.

I'm pretty sure that you only become out of competition if it's your first time cheating. If you do it multiple times, you will lose rating.
