Let's discuss about this software development competition.
Shortly after William Lin Fan Club was founded ( https://codeforces.net/ratings/organization/20327 ), substantial improvements of mutiple members of the clubs have been noticed
dorijanlendvaj, getting +198 by plaincg 4th in Codeforces Round #594 (Div. 1)
gamegame, getting +152 by placing 6th in Codeforces Round #586 (Div. 1 + Div. 2)
nikolapesic2802, getting 2 consecutive +101 by placing 44th in Codeforces Round #588 (Div. 1) and 45th Codeforces Global Round 5
fivedemands, getting +162 by placing 17th in Codeforces Global Round 5
I wonder what might be the possible reasons of this phenomenon. What do you think?
IMO 2020 will be held at Russia in July 8-18 (source), while IOI 2020 will be held at Singapore in July 19-26 (source). As the two places are far apart, it might be difficult and also tiring to attend both (if feasible).
As tmwilliamlin168 is so OP that he would qualify for both, and also some other people will fall into the dilemma of choosing between IMO2020 and IOI2020, so it might be interesting to see what would be your choice, if you get to qualify to both. Please vote here Link
More importantly, I would want to ask Singaporean CPers about if they got news about whether organizers would consider changing the date for IOI 2020, if not, please urge them to :) I would also want to ask this question to Russian dudes, but maybe its unlikely that they will see this post...
While doing team contests with tmwilliamlin168, I noticed one thing. His keyboard is FUCKING LOUD. I was so distracted and couldn't think properly.
As IOI allows participants to bring their own keyboard, I think people sitting near the geniosity would be extremely unlucky. They would have to bare those noises for 5 hours.
Therefore, I want to bring out a discussion on whether you think it is a good idea to ban loud keyboards in competitions (for eg. IOI), and what are the other ways to deal with these issues (maybe allow music? idk)
Today is the birthday of William tmwilliamlin168 Lin! Let's celebrate by reviewing his amazing achievements
2018: Wins the Taiwan IOI team selection and gets removed from the winner's list
2019: Banned from TOI, the first round selection.
It's so impressive that it requires the strength of the whole Taiwan to stop him! orz
