Congrats to Yuta yutaka1999 for winning this year IMO!

Congratulations! He has a probability of IMO win + IOI win :)
By the way, his name is not Yukata (his name is Yuta Takaya), and the handle is not yukata1999 (it's yutaka1999).
Yes. He can win in IOI, because is AtCoder rating is the highest of all IOI participants. He has >3200 rating in AtCoder.
In addition, now his Codeforces rating is 2893, which is the highest of this year IOI participants.
Also, congratulations to yutaka1999!
UPD: why people downvotes square1001's comment of this blog? 60mins ago it was +7 but now it is +2. Why?
UPD 2: There were some grammar mistakes. It could be some bad, or the worst misreads ever. Sorry for huge inconvenience.
Auto comment: topic has been updated by ll931110 (previous revision, new revision, compare).
How many problems did he solve out of the 6 given ? Congratulations !
5 out of 6. which is 7 7 0 7 7 7. Though there is 2 other people with same score. results
Wow. Amazing.
Many Olympiad winners have gone on to win Fields Medals in future !
By the way, do you happen to know if the Olympiads have brilliancy prizes for creative solutions (Even if it doesn't belong to someone who scored a medal) ?
I am not sure, but I remember they have it in the past. Though, haven't heard of anyone winning it in the last 8 years or so
Hope he achieve great result at IOI this year and rank 1 IOI too. Congrats yutaka1999.
hope xquang can beat him.
xuanquang1999 i forgot about you. Poor yutaka1999.
It seems that everyone is overestimating me. I'm not even as good as other members of my team.

I realized this comment is not appriciated for most people so I deleted. Sorry for inconvenience.
Oh, now I understand xD
Yes, it is true, there were some grammar mistakes in previous comment (Reply to square1001) Unfortunately, it can read that the worst comment for someone, but I only said that yutaka1999's AtCoder rating is the highest in this year IOI participants. Great thanks to P_Nyagolov for reply my comment. Sorry for enormous inconvenience.

Massive congratulation for Rudy1444 too!
Thanks :D
With this type of problems it was possible to get silver or even gold with a loot of luck and jbmo knowledge, it is a big hit for IMO prestige. I'm laughing at the fact that he got almost the same medal as yutaka1999 and got the same medal as Swistakk. If you don't believe me just look at very strong guys who got ridiculous scores and random guys with big scores.
Yeah I agree that this year IMO wasn't technical and can relate with those guys who practiced for years and unperformed, but that's olympiad math.Just see how much individual performances vary over the years, look at _h_ IMO graph for example. It's all on subject distribution, only pro guys do equally well all four topics.Anyway in my opinion IMOs without hard (not ridiculously like this year 3rd) geometry will continue to produce surprises.
imo with two problems solved by 3/4 of participants, one ad-hoc problem, two hard problems and one impossible problems will produce a lot of stupid surprises.
Well it doesn't have to,I guarantee if one of those hard were geometry hardcore guys would have much better percentage then on weird algorithmic combo.Fifth problem had same effect as fifth one on IMO 2010,to make results stranger.Third problem is jury mistake, anyway problems where you have to guess answer (Yes or no) are not good choice for IMO,I'm sure jury realized that now.
Second problem should be the third ome because it is too hard, and they began to give 3 cheap points only for finding the solutions which everybody did, at 5 if you write that you divide the sequence in n equal parts you get 2 cheap points so if you solve 1/4 you can get cheap silver, corect me if am wrong.
I agree, saw couple of guys who solved P1 and P4 and then picked out 3 and 2 respectively on 2nd and 5th problem, marking scheme was too generous and that's one more part where luck plays role.I don't agree that 2nd should be 3rd it's not that hard, although not standard FE,I can't see anything new in this problem.Look at scores of some not-TOP 10 countries on 2nd problem (like Serbia,Greece),there are 3 7s ,that would be ridiculous for P3.
Idk, 2 seemed pretty easy to me.
As a former IMO participant, it is always easier to say when you are outside of the contest room. Please show some respect.
Furthermore, the ideas you've mentioned are not trivial. Sequence partition in P5 will be useless without a Dirichlet idea and induction. Ideas are only meaningful when being put in a grander picture.
On getting partial points, scraping points in IMO is very hard. To get 1 point, you have to have untrivial ideas. To get 3-4 points, you have to get really close to the solution. Don't tell me some bullshit like "Oh you only have to solve 2 easy problems and get some partial points in medium problems to get silver".
His countrymates seem even more laughable :P No offence intended, I know you can kick my ass in both mathematics and competitive programming :D
Yeah, my geo sucks and i failed, and? What about guys like Kada Williams or Ciprian Bonciocat for example, is it really their level?
Well, IMO (see what I did there?) it is okay to say you didn't like the problems but why is this hate on Rudy?
Hate is on problem selectin comeetee and on problems. This is his achievement for his points but the cutoffs are stupid. Same situation almost happened last ioi but the second day saved the ioi.
He never did hate on rudy, he is pointing out a big problem of this actual IMO, that luck could of get you better results than skill/ good preparation, and rudy is an example, and he by himself admits it.
"jbmo knowledge" sounds pretty hatefull to me. Also, I admited I got lucky with the problemset, but luck had nothing to do with my result otherwise. I only managed to solve P5 because of practicing informatics all this year, not because I got lucky.
You solved it just because it is solvable by the only thing you know, so isnt that crazy luck? If not go tell to Bonciocat, Vincent Huang, Zachary Chroman, Kada Williams, lots others that they suck. Eh?
"I admited I got lucky with the problemset" ;) Also informatics isn't the only thing I know...
Yeah, but you don't know it very well either.
I never said I did
As i said, go tell Bonciocat, Kada Williams, Vincent Huang, Zachary Chroman they suck in this case. You got lucky in all the ways, you think they didnt hear about an algorithm ?
So some guy performed better than y'all expected, also some people y'all consider stronger than him failed the contest and what you say, instead of "Congrats" is "Go tell them they suck"??? Like WTF, when did he compare himself to these guys? How is he responsible for these people's failure or for IMO committee's badly chosen tasks (according to your taste)? Should Johnny Ho say that Gennady sucks since the latter is much stronger than the former but still couldn't beat him once? And yeah, there seems to be no hate against Rudy, how could I mistake these gentle words for hate!
And the tasks were BAD. How can you call some tasks not bad if luck could of done more than skill??
Too much hate,at the end of the day you guys are teamates. You're clearly frustrated by this year IMO (I can fully understand you),but it's not Rudy's fault even if he got "lucky" (obviously we have different definition of luck).
Lmao both you jealous cunts.
Let me quote
"You solved it just because it is solvable by the only thing you know"
"Yeah, but you don't know it very well either."
http://codeforces.net/blog/entry/52500#comment-373887
Also I_Love_Tina, don't be jealous cause he did better than you at IMO, and considering you didn't even get a bronze at IOI last year, you should shut the fuck up too.
Please stop, another user frustrated by this year IMO,go do something else (eg run, swim,do programming).
Mind post from main account? The fist quote isn't even mine. Either way he would get silver because average cutoff of silver is from 22 points but if you only consider another problems on 2,3,6 slots then other strong guys would present better.
You are unrated so your rating is smaller than mine so shut up
It is also unfair that some guys with 7/3/0/7/2/0 get the same medal as he does. The whole point is that all imo medals are equal, gold/silver/bronze remains the same otherwise if in some year it becomes cheap, it has less value in others. If at rmi 2014 it was given to almost everybody medal, in rmi 2017 the bronze medal won't have any value.
UPD. I saw your comment, yeah, it my rating won't help, and? Any medal at imo or ioi won't help in life. If you insult, insult me openly.
People aren't perfect and nobody can predict how many/few will solve a problem, and also every year new participants come, so it is impossible to make the medals equal from year to year. Also, if 3/4 of participants got less then 19 points, then it must be harder then you say it is. Btw, wouldn't it be more useful to you if you would prepare for next year so you could get a better result, then sitting here arguing how my silver isn't diserved?
Yes, it will be, i'm not talking about your medal, about medal distribution, i have already said in either way you will get silver because it was deserved by the points but in other situation others guys can do better.
Don't be such jealous. He is your teammate
Just igonre him suppose he didn't even participated, want to show you another examples of unfair distribution, i can do it, but there is no point to do this on codeforces...
Yeah, but you don't know it very well either
Looks like this is not about distribution
You understand what i mean by very well? Only somebody who is a regular red can say that or has gold at ioi. I'm not either.
But how is it related to this discussion?
That is kind of discrimination
Maybe, if it is sorry. If you believe that i complain only because of poor performance, i can complain here also about contests with good performances. (yeah, there are such contests)
Wut?
There wasn't any discussion about performance. Do you know what are you writing?
We are trying to explain you that, you should respect others(at least your teammate). It is not about how bad was IMO this year or something like this...
P.S I am not blaming you, I hope you mistyped what did you mean
Seriously? If you don't know yet, he is my classmate, he spends 5 hours per day with me in the school. The way i address to him is normal between us, it isn't hateful. The same way he speaks with me and what is on cf are just sweat words, in real he just downvotes to decrease my contribution and upvotes everybody else. tl;dr; if all strong people at imo get what they deserve, i'm fine whatever medals he would get...
yeah so you normally should be 2 points after silver cutoff, not one point before gold one...
Why didn't you get medal then bruh?
For convenience. Individual Result
Wow, big congratulations :)! Winning IMO is a truly impressive feat. Btw zdolna_kaczka also performed very well, 14th place.
Czechs beat you lol.
;__;
Impressive! Another rng_58
Congratulations for zscoder too!
I wonder how many years (and IMO and IOI gold medals) is Yuta Takaya left?
One for IOI and zero for IMO.
Congratulations! おめでとうございます
