All of them have the exact same code !!!!!!!!!
This is the condition for a Div-2 contest. 4 out of 7 problems
Codechef is not a joke, most of its participants are.
Kind of !!!
But the main reason , why this is happening is because codechef is not doing plag checks at all !!!.
And people (mostly in India) think that they would get jobs by mentioning their Codechef ratings in their resume. Thats why they are doing anything just to increase their rating... Some even struggle to write a simple C++ code/ or use some simple data structures such as vectors, maps etc and are already 4/5 stars on Codechef..
Those companies are joke as well, if they use only just Codechef rating to determine somebody's algorithmic problem solving skills.
Shortlisting of candidates is based on rating which is not a joke.
Is this why nearly every website I visit is shit?
No body wants to do the hardwork. They simply wants to increase the rating.
same is happening in placements. They are cheating everywhere.
I'm from India myself and I personally hate these guys, they're the ones responsible for the alteration in ratings of legit people who genuinely want to treat competitive programming as a sport. I solved the first 3 and barely survived with +1. And a guy who is actually studying in my university copied each and every one of these solutions and got +82.
yes thats the reason why i left codechef and here also same thing is happening.Although here the numbers are less ,but still it happens here as well.Earlier people became specialist and even expert on codeforces by their own efforts and skills but now its becoming to tough just because of cheaters. U are solvind 4 problems and getting 5-6 k rank. Its so demotivating.
My friend rank was around 200 at 11:50 pm IST...and suddenly at the end of the contest his rank was around 1200....Codechef is a Joke seriously....btw he solved 3 sums in div 2..
yesterday, I solved 3 questions then I saw my rank was 191 but sometimes later I was surprised in half-hour more than 900 people solve problem D. But I couldn't find out any solution of this.
some people sell problems on telegram thats why we think their is nothing on internet....
I don't mind the plagiarism(I hate it ofcourse!). They cannot stop it. What bothers me is the contest itself. Test cases for Half Sequence were a joke. Any type of bruteforce/lame ad-hoc solution got an AC. Solutions that were failing on cases with N=3 got AC's. That's how bad the testcases were.
Maybe the test cases are weak. But I felt the problems were of really high quality in today's contest, requires a good amount of thinking as compared to previous codechef contests. Codechef has improved a lot in the level and quality of problems.
Agreed. But quality problems deserve quality tests.
This is not the first time the testcases were weak.August lunchtime also had weak testcases for problems.
Compete in Div1. I don't think there's too much cheating there.
Well, it's not like there are a lot of Div1 rated contest anyway.
How's this is a joke?
How's this is a joke?
UI maybe?
At least somebody said the truth.
I am utterly disappointed with yesterday's contest. I spent so much time and effort on Chef and Pairwise Distances. Then a man on youtube released its solution ,Within few minutes the submission rate went at its peak. After the contest got over every 2nd submission I could found of was using n % 4 inside loop. I was under 800 in rank before the that problem's solution was leaked and suddenly I got kicked out of 1500. The people who can't solve even 1 problem at CodeForces solved all problems up to Chef and Pairwise distances. Apparently CodeChef isn't taking any action.
Really some1 posted solution while the contest was on? As pairwise distance was quiet easy with just a simple obs to make.So I thought the 1k+ submissions were well justifiable, now I know the truth.
Your current rating 1600. Are you in 2nd year or 3d year??
1st year
That's why I left Codechef..But at CF I m feeling difficult to solve problems but after sometime I will improve I need more practice of tougher problems. :)
You'll see these 2 and 3 star coders cheating a lot but not 5 or 6 star ones, So as you go in Div 1 rarely there will be anyone who wants to drop his rank or waste the time for this non-sense stuff!! Best Solution : Get into top and away from this mess!
Most submissions for FAKESWAP have around 14.9MB, and the concepts are very similar.
If you looks at some of the submissions, you can see that some of them are oddly similar, but some of them just used similar approach.
I think the one of the best ways to check for plagiarism is to look at their profile, and look at their recent submissions.
If they submit questions in an odd order or have some odd outcomes, then it's probably plagiarism (not 100%).
For those mentioning cheaters, My advice is, if you want to learn concepts with problems and improve your CP skills, You have to continue with Codechef Contests on your own(they have nice problems that will teach you to learn new things) and ignore those cheaters.
Yeah, cheaters will eventually harm themselves.
But the "eventually" part comes at a cost for us..
not at all because eventually you're improving youself event to code better than cheaters .. moreover you need to pass coding round in order to get in a company . so keep practising .. but yeah palagrism should be reduced..
The 4th question of div 2 was solved only by atmost 100 people in the first 2.25 hrs and then in the next 15 mins , boom 700 people have solved the problem, another 15 mins and it reached 1200 mark. I know there were participants who solved it in the last hour, but most of them cheated!
I just wanted to comment about you marking the memory usage. Note that, on codechef same amount of memory usage does not always mean something. Especially, if you dont use any arrays/data containers, and only solve the problem with variables, then i think memory used is mainly just the libraries included.
In India most of the ed-tech youtubers mention stars on codechef and some positions on codeforces means you are bound to get a good job. They are surely doing great work of creating awareness , but some people choose the easy way and copy paste in every contest on every platform and put it as achievements.
imagine taking career/life advice from a youtuber
lmao
Code chef is joke .. and what is the point of copying .. It's reflects how Indians are .
wtf does it have to do with Indians? Don't tryna stereotype a whole damn country just to get some clout! And yeah it does not reflects how Indians are, but this comment of yours definitely reflects how stupid you are.
घर का भेदी लंका ढाये
PLZ dont blame indians man.U cant judge all indians just bcoz of few cheaters.I know one thing ,if one cant be honest to himself/herself then he cant be honest to anyone else in this world. If there is any cheater whos listening this then make a note of it.
all Indians aren't cheaters but most of the cheaters are Indian. That's the point
but it has nothing to do with their nationality, yes Cheaters are Indians in majority, but that's because we're in majority on CF/CC. So definitely, the numbers would be greater, Simple maths it is.
It's not just about simple maths.I live in Bangladesh. There are many people from Bangladesh as well who cheat. But I know how Indians who cheat think.Because they are very similar to the people of our country. In the countries like India,Bangladesh huge number of people don't do cp just as a hobby. They do it because they think this might help them get a job. This attitude leads many people to cheating. That's the thing. It's not just about high number of users
Dont compare Bangladesh with india.Coders in india are much more skilled than yours.Just check for GMs,IMs,CMs on codeforces in india. How many GMs Bangladesh has???.In sports , coding and in every platform Bangladesh is no where close to india.
Who is comparing India and Bangladesh here?Their thoughts match.I said that.I think you misunderstood my comment.
I dont think you should say these things and compare like that .
Given the number of people(population) and size, they are pretty good. You can see here yourself link.
How will you feel when someone from USA/China say the exact same thing to you???
Also I want to add some lines of Joaquine Phoenix from his Oscar speech :
"In this world we feel or made to feel that we champion different causes. But I see commonality. Human beings are at our best when we help each other to grow, educate each other towards redemption not when we cancel each other out."
So my point is we have to think ourselves as a bigger part of this world which is human, programmers and take the world forward. We should stop comparing and feeling proud like this
Well sadly, I have to agree with you here, in India and other neighboring country there's a growing cult of doing CP for getting Job, and youtubers are over hyping CP, which is attracting more cheaters to use their dirty tricks. But certainly numbers do play a role as well. For instance, stereotyping Chinese as hackers in PUBG would be kinda vague, as there are more people playing PUBG from china, therefore more hackers from there.
I don't give a fuck to them who cheat. They can steal rating but can't steal human intelligence
MOTHER(fucker) INDIA
You better shut your mouth or get a strong punch on your face.
lol
At this moment, I am not even angry or offended anymore, just disappointed :(
I was quite startled by this statement just below the contest dashboard in the contest rules section. Most users might've already seen this, but I've never been an active user there before; their recent incredible setters panel encouraged me to try it out again and I'm really starting to hold it in very high regard. But whoever is managing these rules is definitely not doing justice to the setters, admins, and others concerned. That statement is clearly just inviting chaos. If even CodeChef itself thinks that the line is thin and encourages its users to discuss the problems of an ongoing contest (provided they understand it btw), then who are you and I going to complain about it to?
Looks like Codechef has officially given up on trying to stop Cheating.
If I remember correctly that sentence has been there for 6 years if not more.
true
Codechef is not a joke, most of the Indian coders are.
Indian coders should be banned from programming contests to teach them a lesson.
Yeah good luck with banning us lmao
You all will eventually get banned and that would be the happiest day for the community.
Firstly I am not a cheater..My reply was to the 2nd part of your comment where u said that all Indian coders should be banned..There are around 36k Indian coders here on CF. Good luck trying to ban 36k people lmao
I like your pp
Imagine being so lazy that you can't even be bothered to make it look like your own work. Remarkable.
Or maybe they are just confident that they won't get caught.
The reason this is happening is because during the contest some youtuber leak the solutions for views .. specially in the 10 days long challenge ... so, people just copy an paste for rating. thats one of the reason why codeforces is better.
let those people destroy their own future
why the fuck they have 3 hr contest while 2hr is sufficient ??
Rating on competitive coding platforms is no more a concern to companies. Companies conduct special coding rounds before selecting a student. So, even if people cheat on these platforms, they won't get a job just like that.
Join Division 1 — the grass is greener on the other side.
It's looking like a college assignment, everybody copy from one student.
The problem is not with the CodeChef but with the cheaters.
