Hello,↵
↵
This is a post for high school students who are considering their university options: [Jagiellonian University in Kraków](https://en.uj.edu.pl/en) has a [scholarship](https://matinf.uj.edu.pl/en_GB/kandydaci/oferta-dla-najlepszych/stypendium-mertensa/informacje) for talented students who want to study with us, aimed specifically at programming and/or mathematical contest medalists (this includes IOI, of course, but also your national competitions). ↵
We are one of the oldest (over 600 years!) European universities, with strong mathematical traditions. As for more modern times, we are regular ICPC World Finals qualifiers (with some [medals](https://icpc.global/community/results-2006) on our [record](https://icpc.global/community/results-2011), [too](https://icpc.global/community/results-2013)), and we tend to create [nice programming contests](https://codeforces.net/gym/100543) (also, [here](https://amppz.tcs.uj.edu.pl/2019/data/amppz-en.pdf) and [here](https://codeforces.net/gym/102576)).↵
↵
For the beneficiaries, we provide a place to live, a (quite high!) monthly grant, a Polish language course, and an academic tutor for the duration of your studies. And, of course, our [studies ](https://www.tcs.uj.edu.pl/en_GB/start) include a lot of algorithms and other interesting things. Our lecturers tend to have high ambitions and low [Erdős numbers](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erd%C5%91s_number).↵
↵
The scholarship is named for [Franciszek Mertens](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franz_Mertens), an excellent Polish mathematician. It has two main goals: apart from building strong ICPC teams, we hope that some of you would consider an academic career, prove some theorems and/or develop some algorithms with us :)↵
↵
So, once again, the details of the scholarship are [here](https://matinf.uj.edu.pl/en_GB/kandydaci/oferta-dla-najlepszych/stypendium-mertensa/informacje). Please note that you have to apply for the scholarship by **June, 15th** (although due to COVID-19, the admissions process for Polish universities will probably happen later).
